Had knee surgery the doc is all around great guy

My knee had been bothering me (swollen and low-grade pain) for several months. I went to the VA, and they gave me a "cloth" splint to restrict movement. Didn't manipulate my knee at all. Just visual. Fast forward, my knee continued to swell, and I still had a low-grade pain level. I decided to contact a civilian ortho doctor, and Dr. Hamzavi came up on Google with outstanding reviews. I went in, and he manipulated my knee and stated there was a lot of fluid around the knee. He injected something in my knee (don't recall but Cortison?), told me to quit the splint (yah) and start my long distance walking in a few days, working up to my normal 6-7 miles). Today, my pain is completely gone, and I feel progress as the swelling is down a bit as well.

Dr. Hamzavi was extremely thorough during my first appointment. I had already obtained an MRI of my knee prior to meeting with him, but he took the time to clearly explain the multiple issues I’m experiencing and thoughtfully reviewed the treatment options, taking all of my prior knee injuries into account. I appreciated that there was no pressure to choose a specific treatment plan—he simply presented the pros and cons of each option. I feel informed, supported, and hopeful about the path we’ve chosen moving forward.

I’m so grateful to Dr Hamzati, I was going to pain management for 2 years for hip pain that just kept getting worse, Pt didn’t help me either. Finally went to Dr Hamzati and he diagnosed me with a torn tendon and prescribed a PRP injection and then the correct PT program and I’m finally after almost 3 years starting to regain my life again. A grade A orthopedic doctor.

Right from first appointment, his kind wife made us feel very confident that we had made a good decision with our care. I've had 2 appointments with Dr Hamzavi for a knee injury. He sent me for a MRI (without first doing a useless X-ray) after the first visit. On the second visit we discussed the results and he suggested a cortisone shot to reduce some fluid and inflammation. One shot. Many people I know are told to come back every 3 months for shots and never really given any diagnosis. He was on time, explained everything very clearly and answered questions. He did the shot without my having to come back for another visit. I would highly recommend Dr Hamzavi.

I've been seeing Dr Hamzavi for a few months this year to help with my shoulder bursitis. I was given the PRP injection back in October that I opted for. This seemed to help quite a bit in regards to my shoulder healing. I am continuing with physical therapy and have gained back most of my strength back in the shoulder. I like the doctors calm bedside manner and the ease of access to him along with these advanced PRP procedures that he performed.

I have been getting shots in my knee for the last 7 or 8 years. The last two years it has been with Dr Hamzavi. If only I could have started with him first! I was reminded last week when he was administering my injection, that for the first time I wasn't all tense and nervous. He did it a year ago, totally pain free, and so it was this time. If you've had shots in the knee you know what I'm talking about. Dr Hamzavi is pleasant and professional and so is his staff. Their concern for patient wellbeing is evident. My husband and I both see Dr Hamzavi and we are so happy to have found him. I recommend him to anyone with orthopedic problems.

It was my first appointment with him, I felt very comfortable. He listened and asked questions when I was finished. I really got a good vibe from him! Caring and compassionate for sure. Even when I told him I was self-pay, I could tell that I’m still gonna get good care and I can tell you from being self-pay for 20+ years that’s not a reaction I usually feel ! I was quite pleased with my first visit here. I was able to get seen fast and got some relief from the pain in my shoulder with the cortisone shot. He is following up in few weeks. If I still have symptoms he will order scans look at other options.

Best ortho surgeon! He kept me from making things worse. Had other orthopedic Drs say I needed surgery right away without giving any consideration to the consequences and impact on how it was attainable. They were ready for surgery that week due to the displacement! Speaking with Dr. Hamzavi, he mentioned that every case is unique and based on current research, the displacement is not the only factor. Dr. Hamzavi is thoughtful and asked the right questions to ensure all bases are covered which the other doctors did not. He welcomes other opinions if you decide to get one. There were several things I brought up during our appts and he was right there with answers not only from opinion but from results of current research. Guess what? As my sprained ankle was getting stronger, my broken one was healing. Ultimately, no surgery was required for my injury. Despite surgery as his profession, he was not quick to tell me I needed to 'go under the knife' as my previous consultants told me. All in all, if I were to ever need ortho services, I would seek him out first.

Dr. Hamzavi explained my MRI and x-rays in great detail and drew a picture so I knew exactly what he was talking about. When he was finished, he gave me options and suggestions. He is patient and takes the time to review your diagnostic tests with you and answer all of your questions. His medical expertise is second to none. Dr Hamzavi took the time to answer all my questions, explain things, and let me know what to expect during the course of a procedure so there were no surprises. The cortisone injection he administered was practically painless. I left there with a plan if my procedure ends up not solving the problem. This was my first visit. I was not disappointed and would be happy to recommend Hammer Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.

Dr. Hamzavi was amazing!! My son broke his wrist playing football and we originally saw a different doctor. All of our follow ups and care will come from Dr. Hamzavi. He explained my son’s injury to me in full detail and what my options were for a healthy outcome. He took his time and really cared about my son like family. Highly recommend this office!!! I’ve been having trouble for years with my shoulder and my elbow on my finger and went to the doctor and within a month or so now he has taken care of my finger now working on my shoulder and even following up personally on his own time to make sure after the procedures are done to see how I am doing! Highly recommend!!!!

My first visit to Dr. Brian Hamzavi, MD, I felt comfortable, with the staff and Dr. Hamzavi. He listened to me, as I explained the symptoms of my injury. His, care is exceptional and I was comfortable with his, recommendation, and treatment. didn't feel like it was, my first visit, but it was. I will be back to follow up on my care. I highly recommend Dr. Hamzavi.

Dr. Hamzavi is very thorough in his explanation of the situation with my upcoming knee surgery. He has a great background in sports orthopedics, especially with his experience with the University of Tampa soccer team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the University of South Florida’s soccer and football teams. I feel that I am in great surgical hands with Dr. Hamzavi.

I had an issue with my knee and was only in Melbourne for a few days. Dr Hamsavi was kind enough to see me on a days notice. He was in the office for a meeting with no staff. He was thorough, gave a good explanation of my issue, a cortisone shot and was extremely kind. I would highly recommend and as a seasonal Floridian will continue to use his services.
